XFT-2001E foot drop stimulator comes with a built-in gyroscope and accelerometer. It can detect the angle between patient’s leg and ground. When the angel reach certain value, the stimulation will be triggered and delivered to patient’s leg via electrode to help patient walk.
Stimulation impels the foot to lift (dorsiflexion) and tilt slightly (eversion). Stimulation also can be timed to walking by using a pressure switch placed in the shoe under the heel. Stimulation begins when the heel is lifted from the ground and ends just after heel strike. Stimulation causes the foot to lift and stabilizes the ankle when the foot is returned to the ground.
