OUR APPROACH
We provide individualised solutions to improve your brain and body health using neuroplasticity
DAY 1
ASSESSMENT
Successful outcomes starts with accurate diagnosis. Brain Hub is a leading clinic with advanced technology and clinical neuroscience knowledge to uncover underlying health problems.

ACTIGRAPHY
Sleep quality is a proven predictor in responding to care. Poor sleep equals poor health outcomes. Disturbed sleep may not be known to the individual, and may be caused by exposure to blue light from computers and devices. We evaluate sleep (and blue-light exposure) using the latest actigraphy systems over a 7 day recording. Identifying altered sleep and providing natural and effective brain-based solutions can be the ‘re-set’ your brain needs.
DAY 2
REPORT
INDIVIDUAL REPORT
Once we have performed all the diagnostic tests and initial consultation, we then review your findings, discuss them within your relevant Brain Hub team, and prepare a report of findings to present to you. This appointment will outline the main findings, our thoughts on the underlying causes and most importantly, the best solution for you to improve.

This report appointment allows us to set our expectations and for you (or any family member that has joined you) to ask any questions. We feel it’s important that you feel comfortable and understand how we can help you. Success will be improved when you’re empowered to make the right choices relating to your healthcare.
DAY 3 - 10
TAILORED PROGRAMS

VESTIBULAR NEURO-REHABILITATION THERAPY
At Brain Hub, we uniquely combine advanced neuro-rehabilitation with traditional vestibular therapy. Our research is allowing us to achieve previously unseen results in patients with acute and chronic vertigo and dizziness, including VOR adaptation exercises, otolithic integration, off-axis rotations and galvanic vestibular stimulation, amongst others.

Cognitive Retraining
We can focus on attention, response-inhibition, memory (working, visual, verbal), reaction time and other cognitive tasks using device apps, in-clinic tasks and NSI (neuro-sensory integrator). We often combine with multi-sensory training, including auditory, visual, balance and emotional therapies.

Health Coaching
Heath coaching can help navigate and guide you through many life challenges, including work, self-thoughts, weight, eating, relationships and others. An accountability and empowerment approach is taken so can make lasting changes and unlock your potential.

Nutritional
Recommendations on food and supplementation may be made based on your laboratory results. A functional medicine approach will be taken to improve your neuro-rehabilitation therapies and the effect of neuroplasticity

Mental Health
We offer a range of mental health support therapies aimed at reducing stress, improved resilience and emotional regulation, as well as neuro-rehabilitation approach to managing anxiety and depression. This may be achieved by including bio-feedback heart rate variability training, targeted therapies to the limbic and pre-frontal lobes, amongst others.

Photobiomodulation
The use of lasers and LED light to heal, regenerate and stimulate parts of the brain and body. They have been shown to increase blood flow, increase energy, reduce inflammation and repair brain tissue.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation
Non-invasive transcutaneous vagal nerve stimulation is both safe and effective method to activate the vagus nerve. Evidence has shown that it can reduce migraines, seizures, dysautonomia and improve stress response and gut function.

Neuromodulation
It is the alteration or modulation of nerve activity by supplying a gentle electrical activity to various parts of the head. It is both safe and effective to help people with pain, tremors, dystonia, depression, nerve palsies, sensory processing disorders, and many others. Examples of neuromodulation include vagal nerve stimulation, trigeminal nerve stimulation, galvanic stimulation, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation).

Structural
Structure can govern function. Ensuring the musculoskeletal (muscle and joint) system is moving without pain, unrestricted in range and is stable and controlled, is vital to a healthy body. We use a range of manual therapies, instrument-assisted technology and soft-tissue therapies to assist.

Sensorimotor Integration
A set of therapies aimed at improving coordination, timing, attention, regulation and crossbody synchronicity. This is essential for speech development, good posture and balance, social engagement, hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills. We use a range of computer-based programs including Interactive Metronome.

Trigeminal Nerve Stimulation
A non-invasive mild electrical stimulation of the trigeminal nerve (sensory nerve of the face). It is a safe and effective way of treating nerve palsies as well as modulting (stimulating) parts of the brain. It can be used in helping people with concussion, migraines, fight-flight responses, dysautonomia and others .

Eye Movement Therapy
Poor eye movements are the hallmark of many neurological conditions, including concussion, vertigo and dizziness conditions, Parkinson’s, ADHD, post-stroke and many other conditions. We use carefully prescribed eye movement exercises to help train the brain and improve function.

Balance Retraining
Improving balance during standing and walking are vital for us to move safely and not fall. Balance training needs to be multisensory that involves different surfaces, eyes open and closed, targeting and visual stimulation. We use a range of computerised system that can progressively challenge your balance to ensure improvement.

Primitive Reflex Therapy
Primitive and postural reflexes are the building blocks for cognitive, physical and neurological development. We use traditional and brain-based therapies to help integrate them within children and adults. These include specific movement, sensory-integration and laser therapy.

Visual Integrator
We use the Neuro Sensory Integration technology, a programmable program and hardware aimed to improve eye movements, Eye-Hand Coordination, Visual Reaction Time, Speed and Span of Recognition, Visual-Vestibular Integration, Oculomotor Skills, Visual Motor Skills and Neuro-Cognitive Skills.

Vestibular Integration
We use a range of vestibular inputs including vibration, electrical stimulation and head/body movements. Swings and rotation devices are known to powerfully stimulate the vestibular system to help restore balance, body awareness and dizziness

Optokinetic Room
Full field of view visual and vestibular stimulation has been shown to help people with Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MdDS), visually induced dizziness and others, by providing a progressive and tolerable stimulus. The brain can be trained to be less symptomatic via neuroplasticity therapies. We’re one of very few clinics to have a full-field immersion optokinetic stimulus room.

Virtual Reality
Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a safe and effective tool for neurorehabilitation of different childhood and adult conditions. VR-based therapies can induce cortical reorganization (favourable changes) and promote the activation of different neuronal connections, leading to improvements in motor, behavioural and functional skills. We use the latest ‘full-immersive VR’ to help the brain re-calibrate with the surroundings. It has been shown to help recover from falls risk, stroke, chronic dizziness, fear and anxiety, as well as offer benefits to people with Alzheimers and Parkinson’s.
PROGRESS REPORT

END OF PROGRAM
RE-EVALUATE

At the end of the initial program (3-10 days) we perform a more detailed re-evaluation of the key outcome measures we were targeting. This might include objectively measuring changes with your balance, eye movements, vestibular function, reaction time, cognitive markers, autonomic function and many more. We use this to evaluate the changes we have seen over the program, as well as indicate our next steps.
ONGOING SUPPORT
Our care and your progress doesn’t stop when you go home. After your intensive in-clinic program, we will continue to work with you by keeping you on track, answer any questions and provide the support you need. They may include the following
- Phone calls with your primary practitioner
- Supply with ongoing nutritional supplementation
- Ongoing health coaching program (typically weekly calls)
- Access to home-training programs or testing apps for devices or computer
- Access to the client portal on our website for webinar recordings on health related topics, exercises and other supportive mulit-media material
Your ongoing care may include intermittent in-clinic ‘check-ups’, an opportunity to fine-tune your results, or as with most cases, work towards further improvements and your new goals.
